About De Graaf Bakeries
De Graaf Bakeries produces thousands of products every day for consumers across Europe. Our delicious snacks can be found in all major Dutch supermarkets, at petrol stations and at many other retailers. To continue our growth and development, we invest heavily in the latest machines and technologies.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will independently work on troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on the production lines at our location in Spakenburg.
When a sensor signals a malfunction or a relay needs to be replaced, you handle it with ease. In addition to resolving technical issues, you and your team are responsible for preventive maintenance. When a production line stops for half an hour due to a malfunction, the costs can increase rapidly, making this an important and responsible role.
The Technical Service team is present between 06:00 and 17:00 and works in two shifts: 06:00–15:00 and 08:00–17:00. This means you have flexibility to coordinate your starting time. Many options are possible in consultation.
A day as a technician in the cookie industry
As a technician in the cookie industry, no day is the same. You start your day by performing preventive maintenance on the machines to ensure everything continues to run smoothly. This is essential to prevent malfunctions and keep production running efficiently.
You take part in the morning meeting, where you review the planning with your team, discuss any malfunctions and go over safety topics and other points of attention for the day. This gives you the opportunity to align your work with your colleagues.
After that, you get to work resolving technical issues and carrying out inspections. You have a keen eye for detail and make sure all machines continue to operate optimally. You work on improving processes and carry out repairs where necessary so that cookie production can continue without interruption.
In between tasks, there is time for a well-deserved lunch break, allowing you to relax and recharge for the afternoon.
In the afternoon, you continue working on larger maintenance projects or machine improvements. You also solve urgent technical problems when they occur. When everything is running smoothly, you test the machines and ensure production can continue at full speed.
At the end of the day, you complete the final tasks, update the administration and tidy up your tools. You hand over ongoing work to your colleagues so they can continue during the next shift.
Every day offers challenge and variety, with room for teamwork and continuous improvement in a team that produces delicious cookies enjoyed across Europe.
